Guarana and Green Tea in Olivaro: How Much Caffeine Can One Dropper Hold?
Olivaro lists guarana seed extract 3rd and green tea leaf extract 7th in its 200 mg blend. The label gives no caffeine amount. Label order caps the two extracts together at about 67 mg per mL, or 133 mg per day at 2 droppers, and caffeine is only part of that weight. FDA's reference for most healthy adults is 400 mg a day (FDA, Caffeine: how much is too much?).

The short version
Why are guarana and green tea in Olivaro?
Both are plant sources of caffeine. Neither one is a blood sugar ingredient in the research we checked.
Guarana is a seed from a Brazilian vine. Memorial Sloan Kettering notes that most of its effects come from the caffeine in the seed (MSKCC, Guarana). Green tea leaf extract brings catechins, a group of plant compounds, plus some caffeine (NCCIH, Green Tea).
The sales page pitches Olivaro for "nutritional support for glucose metabolism, metabolic health, and weight management". Catechins plus caffeine showed only a modest effect on body weight (NCCIH, Green Tea).
Guarana sits 3rd of 22 in the blend. Green tea sits 7th. Neither has its own amount on the label, and no caffeine figure is printed.
Label math
How much caffeine can Olivaro contain at most?
No caffeine number is printed. You can still set an upper limit. A proprietary blend must list its ingredients from most to least by weight (21 CFR 101.36 (eCFR)). So guarana, in 3rd place, weighs no more than maca or grape seed. Green tea, in 7th place, weighs no more than the six above it.
Start with 200 mg per mL
The whole blend in one dropper, shared by 22 ingredients.
Cap guarana at 1/3
Maca and grape seed weigh at least as much, so guarana is at most 200 / 3, about 67 mg per mL.
Cap green tea at 1/7
Same logic: at most 200 / 7, about 29 mg per mL.
Cap them together
Both caps cannot be full at once. The two extracts together top out near 67 mg per mL, or about 133 mg per day at 2 droppers.
| Amount | Per mL (1 dropper) | Per day at 2 droppers |
|---|---|---|
| Whole blend | 200 mg | 400 mg |
| Guarana extract, at most | about 67 mg | about 133 mg |
| Both extracts together, at most | about 67 mg | about 133 mg |
Real amounts are almost surely lower: 20 other ingredients need room too, and only part of an extract is caffeine.
The 400 mg line
How does that compare with FDA's 400 mg caffeine guide?
The ceiling sits far below it. FDA cites 400 mg of caffeine a day as an amount not generally tied to negative effects for most healthy adults (FDA, Caffeine: how much is too much?). FDA puts that at about two to three 12-oz cups of coffee.
Even if both extracts were pure caffeine, 2 droppers could not pass about 133 mg. That is about one third of FDA's figure.
- 400 mg: FDA's daily reference for most healthy adults (FDA, Caffeine: how much is too much?).
- About 133 mg: the most guarana plus green tea extract 2 droppers could hold.
- Unknown: the true caffeine per mL. Guarana caffeine is often left off labels (NIH ODS, Dietary Supplements for Weight Loss).
Coffee, tea, soda and energy drinks all count toward the same daily total. Our Olivaro safety guide lists other stacking points.
Signs
What does too much caffeine feel like?
FDA lists a fast heart rate, palpitations, trouble sleeping, anxiety and jitters (FDA, Caffeine: how much is too much?). Guarana's own file adds nausea (MSKCC, Guarana).
Some of these overlap with low blood sugar. Shakiness, sweating and a fast heartbeat can mean a level below 70 mg/dL (NIDDK, Low Blood Glucose). If you use insulin or a sulfonylurea, check your meter rather than guess. Talk to your doctor before you change any diabetes medicine.
Green tea extract
Can green tea extract harm the liver?
Rarely, yes. NCCIH reports uncommon liver injury, mostly from green tea extract tablets or capsules (NCCIH, Green Tea). The NIH weight-loss fact sheet makes the same link for catechin extracts (NIH ODS, Dietary Supplements for Weight Loss).
Label order caps Olivaro's green tea extract near 29 mg per mL. Weight studies used 141 to 1,207 mg of catechins a day (NIH ODS, Dietary Supplements for Weight Loss). The true share is unknown.
Yellow skin or eyes, dark urine, pain under the right ribs, or unusual tiredness after you start any product with green tea extract.

Who should check with a doctor about the caffeine in Olivaro?
FDA says people who are pregnant, breastfeeding, caffeine-sensitive or on certain medicines should ask a provider (FDA, Caffeine: how much is too much?).
| If you | Why it matters | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Use other stimulants | Guarana may not be safe alongside them | (MSKCC, Guarana) |
| Take warfarin or another blood thinner | Guarana may raise bleeding risk; how much this matters is not settled | (MSKCC, Guarana) |
| Take nadolol (a beta-blocker) | High-dose green tea lowers its blood level | (NCCIH, Green Tea) |
| Are pregnant or nursing | FDA advises asking a provider about caffeine; the Olivaro label asks you to consult a physician | (FDA, Caffeine: how much is too much?) |

Timing
Will Olivaro keep you awake at night?
Probably not for most adults, given the ceiling. But caffeine sensitivity varies a lot.
The label sets no time of day: "Shake well before each use. Take 1 or 2 droppers full daily. Place in mouth and swallow." Timing is your choice.
- If sleep feels lighter, try your dropper earlier in the day for a week and compare.
- Log dose time, bedtime and how rested you feel.
The daily dial below is one example routine, not a label instruction.

- Morning dropper
Shake the bottle, take 1 mL by mouth. Tie it to coffee or breakfast so it becomes automatic.
- If you take a second
Some people use the label's second dropper at dinner. Two a day means a new bottle every 15 days.
- Move after eating
A 10 to 15 minute walk fits the activity goal used in the Diabetes Prevention Program.
- Protect your sleep
Guarana and green tea add some caffeine, so keep the dropper away from bedtime.
Timing is our suggestion; the bottle gives only the amount. Program details (NIDDK, Diabetes Prevention Program).

FAQ
Guarana and green tea in Olivaro: common questions
Does Olivaro have caffeine?
Yes, it lists two caffeine sources: guarana seed extract and green tea leaf extract. The label does not give a caffeine amount. Label order caps the two extracts together near 67 mg per mL, and only part of that weight is caffeine, so the real figure is lower.
How much caffeine is in one dropper of Olivaro?
The exact amount is not published. Based on label order, guarana and green tea extract together cannot weigh more than about 67 mg per 1 mL dropper. Caffeine is only a fraction of an extract's weight. Call the order desk if you need a figure.
Is guarana safe with diabetes?
Guarana is not a blood sugar ingredient, and its main effects come from caffeine. Common side effects are nausea and trouble sleeping. If you have diabetes plus high blood pressure, a heart rhythm problem, or use a blood thinner, ask your doctor before adding a guarana product.
Can I drink coffee while taking Olivaro?
Most healthy adults can, if the day's total stays well under FDA's 400 mg reference. Olivaro adds an unknown but capped amount. If you feel jittery or sleep poorly, cut back on coffee first and tell your doctor.
Does green tea extract cause liver damage?
It can, but rarely. NCCIH reports uncommon liver injury, mostly with green tea extract tablets or capsules. Stop and call your doctor if you notice yellow skin or eyes or dark urine. People with liver disease should ask before using any green tea extract.
What time of day should I take Olivaro?
The label gives no time of day. It says to take 1 or 2 droppers daily. If caffeine affects your sleep, an earlier dose is a sensible test. Keep a short log of dose time and sleep, and share it with your doctor.
